Whilst in New York we were lucky enough to be able to meet Emily and Abigail (great name), also known as the 'Wanderlust Girls' for around 30-45 minutes they spoke to us about all things surrounding fashion, the industry and how they got started. I found this extremely interesting and insightful, particularly because it allowed to a real idea of what working within the industry would be like, after the talk their was a short Q and A session and we had the opportunity to take photos with the girls as well. What I really liked about them was how down to earth and friendly they were and the fact that you could see how truly passionate they were about their work; what I also took away from their talk was to never give up and to always be friendly and promote yourself in the best way possible, particularly because within the fashion industry you are your own brand and you just never know when a job opportunity may present itself! I am super grateful for the university organising this talk and was just another thing that made this trip unforgettable.
