For the first part of our summative brief we were asked to conduct a comparison of two different fashion advertising campaigns, preferably from different market levels. I started by focusing on adverts that contained PVC footwear and then broadened my search into all types of clothing and accessories.
I found searching for lower market advertisements more difficult and also tended to find that many of the higher end brands used patent leather rather than PVC, as it is a better quality material, to create a similar effect.
These are just a few of my favourite images from this task...
After some thought I decided to focus this analysis on the Gucci 1997 advert shot by Mario Testino and a Pierre Cardin advert from the 60's; as I thought that both of these campaigns portrayed PVC is innovative ways.
